Get Off Your Duffy

Get Off Your Duffy

I try to hit my post office box once a week, and when it’s just me, I usually take the 405 freeway. When I have H.E. with me, however, like today, we take a more scenic route along the Pacific Coast Highway and see all the boat shops along Newport Beach. Every time we pass the Duffy boats, I think back to the time I rode one and saw all those cool names on all the other boats like it…

Gotta Book

Gotta Book

I want to be more organized for this latest move, so I signed up at LibraryThing and bought myself a CueCat to keep better track of the books I’ll be packing. Notice Given

Notice Given

Today my landlord received my final month’s rent and a 30-day notice, so I feel OK about mentioning it on my blog now. I don’t know why I felt the need to wait, but it didn’t feel right to tell the anonymous web before telling my landlord that I’m moving. Hence my reason for spotty blogging and e-mail correspondence. I’m moving again. It’s time to start packing up boxes. Sigh. I’ve moved so much since I left home that I’m…

My Latest Five

My Latest Five

I have to start thinking about culling my personal library again and packing up some books in the next month or two, so I thought I’d revisit that old meme and see what the last five printed books I’ve read would create: The Meme: Take five books off your bookshelf. Book #1—first sentence Book #2—last sentence on page fifty Book #3—second sentence on page one hundred Book #4—next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty Book #5—final sentence…
