Notice Given
Today my landlord received my final month’s rent and a 30-day notice, so I feel OK about mentioning it on my blog now. I don’t know why I felt the need to wait, but it didn’t feel right to tell the anonymous web before telling my landlord that I’m moving.
Hence my reason for spotty blogging and e-mail correspondence. I’m moving again.
It’s time to start packing up boxes. Sigh. I’ve moved so much since I left home that I’m sorely tempted to create another category just to store all “moving” posts into one neat place on my site. It would certainly make my life easier; every time I’m asked how long I’ve lived here, I do a sloppy search on my blog for the last time I moved. Why should I have such dates in my head anyway? I’m only going to move again.
It’s also time to buy another pair of jeans. I want to be prepared for the move, after all, and I seem to rip a pair every time I move—it happened the last time I moved, the time before that, and yes, the time before that, as well. The tear is always across the right butt cheek, so my ass must be extremely huge and lopsided. I don’t know, but I’m going to have an extra pair handy for when it happens the next time.
And the books. I dread packing up the books. I believe I still have boxes yet to be unpacked, but for those which already are, I’ll have to pack again. I have four bookcases—two of the bookcases fold out and have three shelves each; another bookcase is made of oak and has four shelves plus the top surface; and the fourth bookcase is also made of oak and has three shelves, a top surface, and a shelved cupboard space below. OK, now imagine all of that shelf space … because I have enough books to fill them top to bottom, end to end, from the very back to the very edge, even after I’ve culled a boxful to trade at used books stores and to give to Goodwill. Don’t ask me to count them!
The CDs and tapes? Damn. Going to storage. Now that I’ve gone digital for some of my books, I think I’ll start working on going digital with my music. The old photo albums are also going digital; I need to scan a copy of them all for myself so that my sister can keep the actual photos. I’m not sure yet about the rest of my stuff, so I need to get organized soon.
I’m moving!

Good luck. I’m thinking about spring cleaning, and just the thought of it stresses me out.
I hope the new place is fun and worth the move. Mine was ^^.
Congrats and best luck, sweetie! 🙂
Can’t wait to see photos of the new place!
Thanks, all! 🙂
