Photos from Around Here

Not to be outdone by Maryland, my little corner in Southern California decided to shine for my camera, too. Here’s just seven of a morning outing during a fog.

By the way, I’ve been using a Fujifilm FinePix S3100 for all of my photos thus far. It’s not bad for a beginner, but H.E. feels I’m ready for something better….

  1. Beautiful work! It is seldom that as photographers that we are limited by our equipment, but not knowing what the stats are on that particular camera, you very well may be. The digital realm is an odd one. With film, it doesn’t matter if you are using a K1000 or an F5, the camera is essentially a box to keep light out. With digital, it is SOOO much more complicated than that.

    Regardless, I Love Your Work!

  2. April. Hey! I really liked the photos. I like the first spiderweb best. I also bought a Fuji camera. I don’t have the number in front of me but I’ll need to look. Your’s is probably more sophisticated than mine. Mine is really small. It’s a 4 megapixel.

What all did you do in Maryland? I’ve spent little time there, very little.

One of these days you still need to post some photos with your hair! It’s basically butt length if I recall right–maybe even longer. You can sit on it when it’s down? Hasn’t it been years since you’ve last had a haircut? Although I know you threatened to cut it short a couple of times. At any rate, any updates?

    Have a good weekend!

  3. Thanks, guys! 🙂

Broch, I’m really only limited by my lack of lenses and manual control, and since my camera isn’t built to take on more of either, I can’t really fully develop my skills.

Drew, my Fujifilm is only 4 megapixel, too. I’m hoping that the next time I post photos of Maryland, they’ll be from a 6 megapixel camera. We’ll see! 🙂

As for my hair, H.E. has promised to take a photo of my hair with a 6 megapixel camera if ever the opportunity presents itself. It’s down to the backs of my knees when wet right now. I wanted to cut it chin-length, but I think I’ll do as H.E. suggested and cut it so that it’s down to the middle of my back.

  4. Hey. I found my camera and it’s a Fuji F440 series. I don’t know how that equates to yours but mine lists it as 4.1 megapixels. I need to find my charger though. I’ve misplaced it somewhere and I’m about out of juice.

I wondered if you still had all your hair. Just curious how long your hair reaches when dry? And how long since it’s been cut?

It would be tough to transition from so long to so short although I know you’ve done it before, although not with this much hair I don’t think. Maybe you’ll just put off cutting it for a couple more years : )

    Have a nice weekend!
