I have a literature/writing degree, and I work in publishing, but strangely I’ve never published a novel. Coloring book, yes. Novel, no. I’ve also never participated in NaNoWriMo — the yearly event called the National Novel Writing Month which happens every November, a month during which most people have absolutely no time to do anything like write.
November is the start of the big holidays, with Thanksgiving kicking off the Christmas shopping season. Before that, people are working their tails off to get a lot of work done so they can take the time off to be with family later. This is all happening after daylight savings has ended, so the days feel so much shorter for everyone — like we’ve all just run out of time for no apparent reason; night falls before we’ve even had a chance to awaken.
Naturally, someone decided to challenge people to write a novel during such a time as that. Better, at least, than having to do it in December.
But it’s December now, and those intrepid few who have accepted the challenge and accomplished their goal — i.e., completed their novel — you’re going to need a book cover for that novel, especially if you’re going to publish it; you may even need some formatting, whether for ebook or print book publication.
Well … I volunteer as tribute!
If you have written a novel during National Novel Writing Month, I’ll give you an extra 10% off my normal rates for the book design of the novel you wrote — whether you want just a cover, some ebook formatting, the print book interior laid out, or the whole shebang. This is good for all year, every year, so you have plenty of time to get your masterpiece polished and edited before you come to me. All you have to do is show me your NaNoWriMo badge. That pretty much means you have to have officially signed up and tracked your writing progress on the site I linked to above. Here is it again, in case you need it:
AND/OR if you have other books you’ve written at other times of the year for which you’d like some design work done, if you’ve participated in NaNoWriMo AT ALL, whether or not you finished, show me your participation badge, and I’ll still give you 5% off my normal rates.
