My neighbor got herself a dog. I knew about it before she told me or before I even saw the dog because it’s hard not to hear it barking every time someone comes up the stairs to the landing. I don’t mind the barking. I grew up with dogs. But I can’t help smiling when I hear her try to keep the dog from barking, with her harshest tone yelling out his name and an order to keep silent. Craig Ferguson did a classy thing last night. For his opening monologue on The Late Late Show, he talked seriously about making fun of the vulnerable, particularly celebrities going through tough times, reaching the nadirs of their lives in the public eye. He apologized for his part and openly shared his own experiences, specifically with alcoholism—his rock bottom, his epiphany, his struggle to maintain his rehabilitation for 15 years. Happy Chinese New Year! Yesterday, H.E. and I went to see Breach, and as always, before and after the movie, we’d look at the movie posters on the walls of the movie theater house. While I look at them for inspiration in doing my book covers, he always looks at them for the credits, reading the names of actors, directors, screenwriters, and producers. Why isn’t there a Call It In feature in WordPress? It should be right next to the Write feature, and it should have pre-written stuff—lorem ipsum blah blah blah. I’m working on stuff that’s due or that will soon be due, so either I regret having made a resolution to blog more regularly, or I regret failing to keep that resolution.
