H.E. told me about this a couple of days ago. PBS<\/a> will be airing The Complete Jane Austen<\/a> stories, one every Sunday through April, starting January 13.<\/p>\n

Not only am I big fan of Jane Austen, I’m a big fan of Masterpiece Theater. I love the period pieces they play, like Tess of the D’Urbervilles<\/a> (Thomas Hardy), Bleak House<\/a> (Charles Dickens), and Jane Eyre<\/a> (Charlotte Bronte). Some movies they produce themselves; others are produced by A&E or BBC.<\/p>\n

When we moved and had to reprogram the new DVR to record our shows, we forgot to add Masterpiece Theater, so I can’t imagine what period movies I’ve missed all this time. But I am not<\/em> going to miss the Jane Austen collection. I’ve already seen the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice<\/a>—hell, I have the DVD set—but I’d watch it again. And while I’ve seen the Hollywood versions of Emma<\/a> (I have the DVD for this one, too) and a part of Sense and Sensibility<\/a>, I have not<\/em> seen the versions to be played on Masterpiece Theater.<\/p>\n

Is it so wrong for me to read and reread these books and watch all the different versions of the movies?<\/p>\n
