{"id":683,"date":"2007-09-20T15:31:20","date_gmt":"2007-09-20T23:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aprilgem.com\/log\/?p=683"},"modified":"2007-09-20T15:32:00","modified_gmt":"2007-09-20T23:32:00","slug":"my-latest-five","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aprilgem.com\/log\/?p=683","title":{"rendered":"My Latest Five"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have to start thinking about culling my personal library again and packing up some books in the next month or two, so I thought I&#8217;d revisit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aprilgem.com\/log\/?p=403\">that old meme<\/a> and see what the last five printed books I&#8217;ve read would create:<\/p>\n<ul><strong>The Meme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<li>Take five books off your bookshelf.<\/li>\n<li>Book #1&#8212;first sentence<\/li>\n<li>Book #2&#8212;last sentence on page fifty<\/li>\n<li>Book #3&#8212;second sentence on page one hundred<\/li>\n<li>Book #4&#8212;next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty<\/li>\n<li>Book #5&#8212;final sentence of the book<\/li>\n<li>Make the five sentences into a paragraph.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Paragraph:<\/strong> (Actually, there are two, because two different people are talking.)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Honey, you&#8217;re going to be fine,&#8221; Aunt Beth said and patted Harriet on her back. She was known instantly as a Westerner.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want you to take this money,&#8221; I said to Michel, handing him a stack of twenties, the day before I was scheduled to leave. &#8220;I&#8217;m waiting for a relative of yours.&#8221; As to Miss Violet Hunter, my friend Holmes, rather to my disappointment, manifested no further interest in her when once she had ceased to be
