I was down for the count yesterday—the damn sinuses again. The Benadryl I took to relieve the blinding pain early in the morning kept me glued to the bed all day<\/em> until four o’clock this<\/em> morning. I was worried I wouldn’t feel well enough today to drive up to L.A. with H.E.. In fact, this morning, the sinus pain was still there, lingering. I felt a little better after a shower, though, and infinitely better when I left the house for the drive.<\/p>\n

I was in high spirits during<\/em> the drive, not even panicking as I thought I would be while driving in L.A. traffic. I didn’t even have to take a single Tylenol caplet all day while I was out, I felt so great.<\/p>\n

Then I got home, checked my e-mail, and settled down to watch The Sopranos as the cat sat close by, and gradually I felt that familiar stuffed-up feeling in my head again.<\/p>\n

My family has always had cats and dogs around the house, sometimes even fish and hamsters. I felt really bad for my sister when she started developing cat allergies in her adulthood … but also relieved and almost smug because I didn’t develop the same allergies.<\/p>\n

Now I’m dreading that I might be developing allergies to the cat after all.<\/p>\n

Please let me be wrong. I’ll be vacuuming, dusting, and laundering like crazy tomorrow, hoping that solves my strange new allergy problem.<\/p>\nShare this post:
