Life has a way of answering such questions without words.<\/p>\n

Nothing dire happened to me recently so I’m thankful, but the last couple of days have been a little less than stellar. I try to give myself a pep talk, but I lack the pep to do so. Bit of a quandary there.<\/p>\n

Self:<\/strong> Come on, cheer up!
\nSelf:<\/strong> Why? You’re not cheery. Why should I be?
\nSelf:<\/strong> So you can cheer me up, that’s why!
\nSelf:<\/strong> Why can’t you be the cheery one so you can cheer me<\/em> up, huh?
\nSelf:<\/strong> Because I need you to cheer me up first! Why else?<\/p>\n

I hope the instances of schizophrenia are merely a withdrawal symptom, though I’m not sure what the addiction would be. I haven’t watched my Craig Ferguson shows in a while, and he always cheers me up. So maybe I just need another dose of the silly whip and the words “Welcome back, my frisky little badgers!”<\/p>\n

I do have bright things in my foreseeable future. I just booked a round trip flight to see my friend Janine, who is getting married in July. I also have a lottery ticket in my purse, and I haven’t yet checked the numbers. Things to look forward to.<\/p>\n

But this gloom and doom, it could come from anything. The chocolate I’ve been eating, perhaps? I’m not a chocoholic like most women are, so the shitty brown confection could affect me quite differently. Could it be the ingrown hair in my armpit, maybe? Never thought I’d be the sort who could get a hair up my pitt, and a hair up any body part can really get a person down. Or is it the fact that I recently paid my Q2 estimated taxes? Yeah, well next to death, paying taxes is definitely a major downer, whatever the circumstance.<\/p>\n

Not that it matters what brought me down. The question is what can I do to bring myself back up? Other than to have a crane lift me? Or even an egret?<\/p>\n

I wonder what Life would answer if I asked what could possibly be better.<\/p>\n

It’s worth a shot, if anything. I’ll see if the other half of me agrees.<\/p>\nShare this post:
