Ogres are like onions.<\/a> So if you want fresh minty breath for Christmas carolling, don’t chew on any ogres.<\/p>\n

I’m going carolling this weekend, and I’m looking forward to it. Last year, I went with a fairly large group, and our director Steph decided to give Human Encyclopedia a very special part in “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” He and another ogreish baritone in the group got to sing “five golden rings,” except there were no golden rings; they were asked to sing about five of anything they liked BUT golden rings, and they would take turns solo-singing lyrics like “five supreme court justices saying aye.”<\/p>\n

Human Encyclopedia, by the way, is quite practically tone deaf. Add to that some wacky lyrics, and you end up with some giggly Christmas carolling.<\/p>\n

So anyway, to get myself in the mood for the holidays, I’ve decided to start giving out the gifts I mentioned before<\/a>. I’ve budgeted $50 to give out to readers, but I’m breaking it up into five golden gifts. With each gift, the lucky person gets to choose either a $10 gift certificate to Amazon<\/a> or an 8″ x 10″ print (or smaller) of his or her favorite image in my gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But here’s the catch:
\nTo get one of the five gifts, you need to find and be the first to claim one of the five easter eggs I designate as fair play for this month. Four of these eggs are quite old and are already waiting to be found at various places on this site; the fifth one will be ready at the end of the month, with the clue revealed in the<\/a> usual<\/a> way<\/a>. Also, to keep from having one person hogging all the gifts, you can win up to only two gifts; after that, even if you’re the first to find a third or fourth egg, the prize has to go to the next person who finds the egg. There is no set time limit, but once the five gifts are claimed, that’s it!<\/p>\n

Get it? Got it? Good.<\/p>\n
