Pshaw. Now I know why I don’t join blogging teams. One of my publishers has a blog, and I was scheduled to post today, except that life had a couple of unplanned events in stock for me, and as usual, I posted late. This meant, of course, that I had to put off working on the Illustration Friday topic, which I wanted to do so I could post it today. Since I didn’t get a chance to work on it…
First one was taken with the telephoto lens after I spent the morning in the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. While there, I managed to capture an egret a heron, a hawk, and a hummingbird—woohoo! Second one was taken earlier in the morning with the kit lens before I went on the reserve—same flower just outside and in the residential area, but from the side and with better light. There’s an old water tower in Huntington Beach that was long ago converted into a 3-story house. The 3-story house is, of course, on top of a 3-story platform of some kind, making the top story at least six stories high. On one hand, it’s probably the safest house in the event of a tsunami, and on the other hand, it’s probably a pain in the neck to move furniture and grocery bags in and out of the place. There’s…
