aprilgem is short for April G. E. Martinez. That’s me. I’ve been creating web sites since 1998. The domain houses a personal web site that’s been online since 1999.
aprilgem’s journal has been a regularly updated section of aprilgem.com since 2001. I use it to share my writing, riddles, tutorials, and artwork with anyone who might enjoy them. More on why I blog can be found here. Unless otherwise indicated, everything was written or created by me.

A Word on the Redesigns…
I’ve had several, and I used to write secret notes in the source code. I went from Greymatter to a couple of versions of MovableType to several versions of WordPress, and throughout all that I changed the looks every now and then. One design allowed me to easily change the mastheads, an archive of which you can find here. Now I just change the background patterns every now and then, though I think it may be time for another big change.
